I should have seen it coming. Sexy? Handsome? Trouble? Check, check, and check.
Is he messing up my life? Hell yes. All the signs are there he is a bad boy.
Even his name is a lie. Too bad I married him. I can’t wait to get divorced.
Does this make me sound crazy?
I know I should avoid him, run as fast as I can. However, when a harmless misunderstanding lands me in a foreign prison cell, my dear, lying husband is the only one who can get me out. Crap. I shouldn’t accept.
But how to say no to trouble when said trouble is the one who makes me fantasize all the dirty things he could do to me?

Well this was the conclusion to Chase and Laurie's story. The answer to what Chase has been hiding. I wish I could say it was perfect, but it was not.Laurie was so weak and unable to stand her ground that I honestly did not like her. Neither her nor Chase could seem to stick to the point of what they wanted to say. He used her and told her he didn't want to feel for her yet he wanted her to stay with him. She was hurt and angry over what he did but she was like an animal in heat with her thoughts. I nearly had hope for her in Chapter 21, she actually had a backbone for 2 seconds, but flip the page and it is gone.
The editing! It was a mess. Each chapter it appeared that someone else was writing it and editing it. There were discrepancies throughout, most notably was everyone asking if Laurie read her mother's letters before she even had possession of them.
Simple errors that should have been noticed by a proof reader, in example, His heat was eradicating from him instead of eradiate., "I glanced at the watch" instead of my watch., having let go one line, yet still embracing them the next, seated next to someone yet saying they were seated opposite, etc..
Yes these seem trivial but when they compound it takes away from the story.
The end of the last chapter before the epilogue was the best part of the book.

Bad Boy JC Reed Jackie Steele 9781522898221 Books Reviews
What a beautiful and emotional ending to the Indecent Proposal series! It's a heartbreaking journey for Laurie and Chase! All the secrets and lies are revealed in this final conclusion and it's one hell of a ride! I freaking LOVE Chase. His confidence/arrogance is funny and such a turn on! Laurie has a battle on her hands - trying to resist Chase when their chemistry is off the charts and trying to protect her heart especially after everything that has happened. Don't want to spoil the story so I will just say that this is a MUST read! The suspense will have you flipping the pages til the end! You will fall in love with Laurie and Chase's story. 5+ star read on the entire series!!!
What an ending. Well worth the wait. I have gone through every possible emotion regarding Chase..anger, distrust, empathy and love for the bad boy with his own agenda. Chase is so arrogant that at times it is hard to like him but then with a few words he proves himself and you believe in him again. Like all of J.C.'s books the heroine has my complete sympathy at one point and then I want to smack her in the head and yell WTH is wrong with you. This is an awesome ending to an amazing trilogy. If you like a little humor, a lot of suspense and hot love, this is the book for you. All I can say is sign me up for her next ride.
While I absolutely enjoyed reading this series I didn't like Lauren. Needy, angry and resentful. Her family life was horrible - insane mother and a step father who isn't nice. She's getting only a small percentage of her family estate and gets her mother's letters to her on her 23rd birthday. She married Chase and its a disaster. He's hiding things from her and instead of staying to confront him she runs to Acapulco where she's in danger. Her best friend is constitutionally unable to keep a confidence and has done several underhanded things to " help " Lauren. Friends like that aren't helping. Good story although the rush to clean up everything in the final few pages is an annoying technique that too many writers fall into.
This book was so satisfying. The reader finally learned the answers Laurie had been seeking throughout the series. But I kind of didn't want it to end either. Laurie and Chase's story started out as an arrangement that was suppose to be beneficial to both of them. The problem was they both developed feelings for each other. It was a problem because the way their relationship started, both of them had a lot of trust issues in believing what the other said they were feeling. The reader sees Laurie's struggles about believing in Chase's feelings for her. So they have a lot of problems with trust and with communication. This book Is so well written the reader can empathize with the characters and root that love will win out in the end. I recommend this book the story is sweet intriguing and very sexy!
OK, so there were definitely some editorial problems with this book. Usually that's enough for me to say it's a lousy book, but there weren't THAT many. Still, some proof reading wouldn't have gone amiss.
I was SO looking forward to the conclusion of this story and to find out what on earth was Chase's story. However, not all of it made sense. I think the biggest puzzle to me was that although his family's fortune and property were essentially wiped out, he's suddenly extremely wealthy. Practicing law alone shouldn't have put him in that level of wealth. ?? Did I miss something?
In my review of the previous 2 books, I defended Laurie's actions, but by the third one, her behavior just seems kind of nuts. I can understand her lack of trust, but not her love for Chase actually. But if she supposedly loved him so much, then her actions are just stupid. Somehow the author failed to make any of that very easy to take.
So, my opinion of the final installment is that the whole thing should have been better. The whole Mystery Man in the elevator part just fell flat, and the revenge rationale is tiresome. The bad guy didn't even end up in prison the way he should have!
There is no way this is a standalone novel, even though it's billed as such. If you didn't know the backstory, none of it would make sense!
Somehow I feel a little used and cheated.
Let me start off by saying the plot was very good, the characters? Big no no! The chick is as dumb as the ground she walks on. There is absolutely nothing apealing at all about both of them, i really wanted to throw them with an orange on their forheads! Plus some of the scenes in detail didn't make sense, it changed alot. I would seriouly tell this author that this was just blah!!
